Put an End to the Grabbing in Fall Guys

If you share my sentiments, you might find a twisted enjoyment in thwarting your rivals. In Fall Guys, you have the opportunity to adopt a rather hostile approach by grabbing fellow competitors. When you grab a player, it temporarily immobilizes them, giving them a chance to wriggle free. While this tactic might seem beneficial during a race or when trying to shake off a bothersome player, I’ve discovered that concentrating on grabbing others tends to be more detrimental than beneficial.
This advice holds true on various maps, particularly on those with tight spaces like Tip Toe, where players need to find the right route to the finish line. Engaging in grabs can lead to your downfall, as the resistance from other players can hinder your control over your character, potentially causing you to break free and fall off the edge. Similarly, in Roll Out, a cylindrical stage with rotating sections, grabbing another player can limit your mobility, increasing the risk of falling off as the incline of the cylinder becomes steeper. Believe me, I’ve experienced this firsthand.
The key takeaway is that concentrating on your individual efforts during non-team challenges increases your chances of achieving success.
Understand When to Compete Against the Opposing Team in Fall Guys
If you’ve reached the team stage, well done! You’re getting closer to securing your first Crown in Fall Guys. The challenge, however, is that your success depends on your teammates. But don’t fret—if you contribute effectively, you could still reach the finish line. Additionally, you can assist your team by undermining the efforts of your rivals. There are various stages where prioritizing the sabotage of the opposing team can be beneficial. Let’s explore this in detail.
In Rock N’ Roll, your objective is to guide your ball through an obstacle course and into the goal at the end. Each team has its own designated lane, and collaboration is key to successfully maneuver your ball off the edge and onto the slope leading to the goal. If you see an opposing team gaining an advantage, consider diverting your attention to their ball and pushing it away from the goal. Remember, two teams can emerge victorious in this round, so it’s strategic to target the team that’s lagging behind to ensure their defeat. However, don’t forget to assist your own team if they’re in trouble, as neglecting to do so could undermine your efforts.
Hoarders and Egg Scramble share similarities. In Hoarders, the goal is to accumulate as many balls as you can in your team’s area, while in Egg Scramble, the objective is to collect as many eggs as possible. In both games, you can gain an advantage by stealing from the opposing team. This approach is effective only if team members evenly distribute their roles, so it’s important to strategize and be flexible in your tactics. Since communication is absent in Fall Guys, trust your instincts and make the best decisions you can. Occasionally, despite your best efforts, you may not succeed, and that’s simply part of the game.
Take on the role of the Goalie in Fall Guys.
One strategy I consistently adhere to involves a team-oriented game reminiscent of soccer known as Fall Ball, which frequently appears in Fall Guys. In nearly every game, I observe that many players focus solely on offense. While being aggressive is important, you can tilt the game in your favor by taking on the role of a goalie. By positioning yourself as a goalie, you can prevent opponents from scoring by either jumping or positioning yourself in the path of the ball. This approach allows your teammates a chance to regroup and assist in the defense.
This serves as an excellent substitute for an offensive strategy since the ball carries momentum, and the players designated for defense are often sluggish. In the absence of a goalie, there are instances when there isn’t sufficient time to block the ball. Additionally, it’s not unusual for teams to inadvertently score against themselves while attempting to maneuver around the ball from the rear, inadvertently propelling it further. Although it may not be the most thrilling position, the role of a goalie is undeniably important.
Timing is crucial in Fall Guys.
When you’re in a hurry to reach the end, it’s tempting to charge ahead without considering the challenges ahead, tackling them only when they arise. However, it’s crucial to be mindful of the timing. I’ve observed many players in various matches who sprint ahead, only to tragically plunge into the sticky pink abyss. Mastering timing is essential in many stages of Fall Guys, so let’s get started.
The Gate Crash stage features gates that move up and down in sync with the music. These movements are generally quick, and you don’t need to concentrate too hard on them, except for the last challenge. As you reach the end, you’ll find yourself sliding down a gooey slope. There, you’ll encounter three gates: the two on the sides move in harmony, while the central gate operates on a different timing. I tend to concentrate on the gate that begins to ascend. Due to the timing, by the time you reach the bottom, it’s typically wide open for you to leap through.
Clearly, when facing any level that features a propeller, swinging ball, or any other dynamic obstacle, it’s essential to strategize effectively. And for heaven’s sake, avoid the central ramp at the conclusion of The Whirlygig—you’ll likely get knocked off the edge. Timing won’t aid you in that situation. However, make sure to synchronize your jump with the rotating propeller at the end. Many players leap forward in the hopes of passing through a nonexistent gap. Exercise patience, and you will prevail—subsequent levels won’t demand the same level of timing.
Pay attention to the orientation of barriers in Fall Guys.
In various stages, you’ll encounter rotating bars arranged in a circular pattern or circular conveyor belts operating in specific directions. The main strategy for navigating these obstacles is straightforward. When conveyor belts are present, avoid moving against their flow, as other players will gain a significant advantage. You’ll reach your goal more quickly by adhering to the directional arrows on the conveyor belts rather than attempting to resist their movement. This is particularly relevant in the Dizzy Heights level.
In levels featuring rotating bars, such as The Whirlygig and Jump Club, it’s best to move against the direction of the bars. Avoid jumping when the bar is behind you; instead, time your jumps when the bar is approaching to reduce the risk of being knocked down. For Jump Club, take a few steps forward to ensure the upper bar doesn’t hit you. Once there is enough distance between the upper and lower bars, jump when the lower bar is coming towards you. On the other hand, rotating bumpers, like those in Team Tail Tag, can easily knock you down and leave you exposed. Move in the direction the bumpers are swinging to confuse your opponents and create an opportunity to escape.
Upon reaching Fall Mountain, you’ll encounter a series of spinning obstacles towards the finish. Contestants are likely to fall behind if they attempt to move against the rotation of the spinning bumpers. However, if you are struck while moving with the spinner, it will at least propel you closer to your objective.
