This year is the most wonderful time of the year. I'm one of those guys who likes to give it his all on his favorite holiday. Christmas is one of them. Expect the budget to shed tears.

Be Moderately Thrifty

However, my favorite method is to shop with a proper rewards credit card. During the holiday season, that card for me is Discover it® Cash Back.

Here's how you plan to use your Discover it cashback for Christmas shopping and how much you can expect to save.

Why I Love Discover it Cash Back

First let's talk a little bit about cards. Cash Back is a cash back credit card that earns 5 percent cash back in bonus categories that must be activated quarterly (up to $1,500 on quarterly purchases and 1 percent thereafter). All other purchases get 1% back. At the end of his first year with the card, Discover will match any cashback earned as an introductory offer for even more perks.

Bonus categories rotate quarterly. Similarly, Chase and Discover now release cash back categories on a quarterly basis.

This is how the 2023 Discover Cash Back Calendar looks so far. The 2022 categories are listed for comparison.

As you can see, Discover it cashback will be available for the 2022 holiday season. It rewards you generously. Can be used to shop on Amazon.com or make purchases with your digital wallet.

Amazon.com is one of my favorite places for off-the-beaten-path shopping, so this is a big plus. (Just kidding. Always exercise self-control when shopping to avoid incurring credit card debt.)

How I Saved with Discover it Cash Back This Holiday Season

Last November, I saved $325 with Discover it Cash Back. I made the most of the 5% category and won several deals, including cashback matches and some deals exclusive to Discover cardholders.

My goal at the time was to furnish my apartment. The Discover it cashback was a great help, especially given his 0% introductory interest rate period of 15 months (and thereafter a floating interest rate of 15.74% to 26.74%) on purchases and balance transfers.

But now I can fully focus on my vacation spending.

I am an avid online shopper. The fact that Discover it Cashback will allow me to earn exceptionally high cashback rates from some of the biggest retailers this quarter makes my Amazon junkie heart swell with pre-holiday cheers.

A large part of the holiday season budget is spent on gifts, most of which are purchased on Amazon. Many of my friends live in different states, so Amazon is especially useful because it makes it very easy to buy someone's wish list and send a gift directly without going to the post office.

I'm just guessing, but with Discover it Cash Back, you'll get 5% back on all this spending.

That said, holiday spending alone puts you in the bonus category. I'm not going to use up the $1,500 cap on . I would like to keep the budget within 10,000 yen. Use the remaining $500 for basic daily expenses, such as toiletries and household items purchased from Amazon, and essentials such as groceries from AmazonFresh.

Why you should also consider Discover it Cash Back

It's giving season, and it's spending season. But even if it's not, Discover it Cash Back is worth it.

Amazon is a major retailer, and it's hard to imagine what you can't buy from Amazon. Plus, as long as you have your Discover it cashback stored in any digital wallet, you can earn rewards for making purchases this way.

Another important thing is that I only had fair credit when I applied. for the card. You probably need a lot of credit to get a decent rewards card like this, but when I got my Discover it cashback approval, my Experian FICO credit score was 660. I also have an account, so I can only speculate that my previous relationship with the issuer may have played a role, but that's pure speculation and it's possible it made no difference at all.

So I might want to take a chance on you too — even if your credit isn't great yet. If you don't see Discover it Cash Back on CardMatch, you can get pre-approved before you apply. Pre-approval does not affect your credit score and allows you to view Discover cards that you are more likely to qualify for.

Good luck! In the meantime, I've started listing all the gift cards you plan to purchase at the grocery store in Q1 2023 to earn an extra $75 cash back To do.
